The Houston Mercantile Exchange provides an independent and neutral online commodity exchange for over-the-counter (OTC) energy and petrochemical products. From natural gas liquids feedstocks (NGL's) - ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline to the primary petrochemical building blocks of ethylene and propylene through commodity plastics polyethylene and polypropylene - HMX is focused on bringing together the real-time price discovery, transparency, liquidity and execution efficiency needed by companies in and associated with the petrochemical value chain. Participant companies include natural gas processors, petroleum refiners, ethylene producers and plastics consumers as well as traders and financial institutions involved in these markets.

The HMX platform is also the primary electronic marketplace for participants in these industries to execute financially cleared swaps cleared through CME ClearPort® and
ICE Block.

The HMX Commodity Exchange allows traders to perform global real-time trade execution, providing an efficient and secure commodity trading system for all participants. HMX also has the knowledgeable real-time commercial support to help generate the liquidity and transparency to get a deal done.
